[VAC] Re: Battery question

Dave,

It should only charge when the truck is running. You can get a
relay at your friendly neighbourhood parts store to put in the truck
to only connect the trailer battery cable to the truck battery when
the truck engine is running. These relay are about $15.00 and are
cheap insurance...

A great place to get a high quality cable for the battery system is a
Welding Supply shop. I purchase 4 Ga. stranded cable with a
heavy duty rubber jacket from BOC Gasses/Welding supply, they
stock 4ga in 25 ft put ups for $15.77

This is a very high quality cable and is made to be flexible. It has
hundreds of fine strands of pure copper. I find this cable stands up
very well in cars, trucks, trailers and boats. I have never had any
trouble with it... I do high power emergency communications
systems in both off road and on road vehicles and use the same
technique in my Airstream and truck.
