Bob. The 55 amp univolt from us costs $265.00. The intelli-power with wizard 
costs $277.88. With the wizard you have 3 different charging voltages, The 
univolt continuously changes voltage depending on it's output requirement.
It's not that people don't like the univolt, they don't like the name. The 
present univolts are far removed from the old junkers, that did have some 
problems, but they were the state of the art back then. It's easy to throw 
rocks at the old univolts when you compare them to the new products 
available, such as the intelli-power, BUT that does not make the 
intelli-power better than todays univolt.
There are those that feel Airstream has always install junk components.
There are those that always seek to improve the Airstream product, but 
usually wind up, on the wrong side of the curve by causing more problems than 
they solved buy using  un-researched items.
We deal with that every day and have a heck of a time, sometimes, getting the 
Airstream to do it's thing as designed, when owners tell us horror stories on 
some of the changes made.
