[VAC] Step won't stay up

Hi everyone,

Friday I brought the 73 Ambassador home with a new furnace, and managed
to back it into its hole all by my self. However, I kind of dug things
up with the step.  It is missing the bottom part of the fold out, so
it's just the one step. It won't stay up over even minor bumps.  Any
ideas ?
