Greetings Fellow Fanatics. My '66 Globe Trotter has many
applications of different caulks. Most recently, silicone seems to be the caulk
of choice by previous owners. In preparation to polishing, I plan to clean up
the caulking. In some places the silicone doesn't seem to adhere well, but in
other places it seems well sealed. My basic question is," What's wrong with
silicone?". Should I remove all silicone and replace it with Vulkem? Why
is Vulkem better, if it is?
Thank you,
Rick Langer
