Ted,
  I think I got my thread chasers at the auto parts place. NC= National 
Coarse, NF = National Fine. Just used my set of NF thread chasers 
yesterday, working on a rusted part. The threads weren't real slick even 
after a power wire brushing, so I ran the appropiate chaser over them to 
do the cleanup.

A power wire brush is great, but do always, ALWAYS, wear safety glasses. 
Those things "shed" something awful.
