Bob, We also work and cannot get to the rallies before Friday. Many of the rallies we have attended have reduced rates for those of us that can only make it on weekends. One of the pluses of belonging to a local unit is the rallies are generally located in a couple hour driving range. Enough to make the trip interesting but not to far that makes a Friday afternoon drive into a marathon. As far as the differences between Vintage and "standard" rallies go. I have been to both. I see very little difference. We enjoy them both. They are what you make them. Scanning the Blue Beret every month gives me an idea of the different and varied activities the units hold. If you see something that looks interesting give them a call I'm sure they will be happy to have you. There is about 4 or 5 units that hold events that I would conceder a weekend jaunt. Maybe the unit that you are affiliated holds events that are not your cup of tea. Use the blue beret and the yearly membership book to search out something that fits.
