You can put a remote thermostat on that heater... I bought one at the
hardware store that is made for baseboard heaters, mounted it on a wall in
the middle of the trailer (In fact I think you can see it in the
VintageAirstream archive - first 59 Traveler) hooked it up to an outlet
(used good wire) then ran it to one side of an outlet that I plug my heater
into.  Works REALLY great!
