[VAC] Re: Towing in OD

I have kept quite as long as I can stand it on this subject. I also burned
two transmissions on a '93 1500 with OD on flat land. The OD was not
switching in and out (stayed in OD), so I thought everything was hunky
dorey as we say here in E. Texas. The second transmission even burned
up using a new, larger transmission cooler in addition to the one installed
by Chevy.

My question to everyone is "why take a chance" no matter what the
manual, the dealer or the mechanics say. Run with the OD switched
out, it only uses a little more fuel, and it can not be bad for the tranny
or engine, as long as you don't redline the RPM. It has to be better on
the engine, tranny and the Texas oil economy.
