I can't comment on the difficulty of pulling wire through an Airstream. 
However, replacement wiring is often pulled into other structures using the
old wiring as a "leader".

Whatever you do, be sure to observe the convention for 120VAC wiring.  The
black (hot) wire goes with the brass colored screw on the fixture.  The
white wire goes with the silver colored screw.  Sometimes it can be hard to
discern the color difference, so be careful.  Make sure to connect the
ground wires, too.
