Vulchem is a name used by the maufacturer for a whole range of one part
polyurethane sealants in tubes and in bulk. A whole range of colors is
available also depending on the particular vulchem sealant. Sealant uses
range from general construction to specialist applications like marine, RV,
and truck trailer manufacturing. All of the Vulchem products suggest dry
tooling and clean up with xylol or toluol. I have used lacquer thinner too.
The product numbers they suggest for RV's and the like are 616, 626, and
636 These are available is silver. The big problem as I see it is a vendor.
I can any of it in thirty tube lots for around $5.00/tube. I wonder, is
there enough interest to warrent acquiring a case to split up? It might
work to dip the tip in xylol and then cap it to prevent it hardening in the
tip between uses. I have the Tremco sealant catalogue and could scan the
pages if there is any interest and/or any place to keep them.
