Hi Tim,
    The procedure I use is to level the trailer, then extend the stabilizers
until they are firmly planted, but not lifting the trailer. I soft ground,
pieces of wooden 2X6 larger than the pads(assuming you have pads, if you
don't they are available at Camping World and made by BAL) can be placed
under the pads for a larger footprint.
