Thanks for the further details, Dave. Sounds very
ambitious to me. Fortunately I don't need a complete floor replacement with my '
68 Tradewind but I might need it for my next Airstream project assuming there is
one.
I'm trying to visualize cutting off the bolts
attaching the floor to the floor channel. Can you describe what you did? Also,
after you drilled out the exterior rivets holding the skin to the frame, what
did you do about the aluminum "U" channel at the floor line to which the
interior skin is attached? Or is that the bolts that you said were cut off.
Isn't access a problem? That channel is bolted to and through the floor I
believe on my Tradewind. Maybe I'm envisioning it incorrectly.
