Hi Jim,
After the inside was gutted I would roughly
estimate 150 hours labor to remove and replace the floor. I worked on it
on weekends and evenings. This was a body off floor
replacement. I want to mention that I did this by myself and a helper
would have made it much easier. After I drilled out all the exterior
rivets along the bottom of the skin panels and through the frame I cut off the
bolts going through the floor channel. When I say body off I mean I
elevated the body straight up about 4 inches above the frame. I used a 5
ton bottle jack, a length of 4x4 and wooden block with a piece of old tire
attached to the top to prevent any damage to the ceiling. I then preceded
to jack up the front section first. I positioned the jack in the center area of
the floor over a length of 2x12 (as I didn't trust the structural integrity
of the old plywood ) and as the body cleared the floor I ran a length of 2x4
across the floor and out the sides and fashioned a vertical support under
each side of the 2x4 and then did the same in the rear. I removed and
replaced one section at a time repositioning the jack and braces as I
went. Of course this just an overview and it was not
"easy". It was very labor intensive and fun too! Good
luck, Dave
