I have not had good luck with aftermarket mirrors that slip over the factory
mirrors. Mine vibrated so much that it was hard to see anything in them. At
interstate speeds the extra wind resistance caused by these slip-ons was
just enough to push the mirrors in so that all I could see was the side of
the truck. Back in the dark ages when we towed with cars we used towing
mirrors that temporarily mounted on the front fenders. They did an excellent
job but were a bit of a pain to get properly adjusted. I do not remember a
brand name but perhaps they are still available.
