I would like to know the answer too. My '73 came with a piece of
aluminum siding in the hole, with a hot glued piece of velcro for a
handle. It goes flying if I forget to slide it open before reuniting it
with the main door. I sent for the replacement, which is white plastic,
which I had to cut to fit, and it is too thick to slide in the grooves.
So I back to the sliding siding.
