The shocks for you coach are the same that Airstream has used from 1962 to date.
During that period two companies have made them. Delco started out making them.
They provided a split grommet which simplified changing them. Several years ago
Gabriel took over production. Their shock does not have a split grommet and thus
requires the axle to be detached and lower to change it.
The shocks are custom built to Airstream/Henschen's specification. No other shock
on the market is built the same.
However, many folks on the list have found, through one source or another,
substitutes they are satisfied with. Usually it requires removing a shock and
taking it to a local automotive parts source and having them match it's physical
specifications.
