[VAC] Re: Shocks

Hello All, 
    We have a 75 27ft overlander that has developed a need for new shocks. 
After reading the posts about shock replacement, my understanding is that the 
shocks that you get at your local auto parts store and airstream shocks are 
identical except for price and the split bushing. Am I correct in this 
assumption?  Are the ones on this year the same as the ones that you need to 
pry the mount away from the frame to replace? If so it seems to me a pretty 
brutal way to go about a replacement. Is there a big difference in price 
between the two sources? This is my next item of maintenance unless a more 
pressing item emerges.
