I took advantage of Camping World's 25% off sale
and bought a 6 gal Atwood water heater to replace the original Bowen WH in my '
68 Tradewind. Question: What is the process to get the old water heater out? I
took out the 25-30 screws that attach the WH cover/door to the skin. That got me
nothing except the three piece cover/door is off now and the front of the
WH seems loose but the back of the thing seems attached. By looking in the
access door in the bathroom under the lavatory, I can see one metal tab on
the back of the WH that is screwed to the floor. Can't see anything on the
closet side of the water heater area. What else is holding the WH in and how is
the best way to get to it? I suppose I could cut an access door through the
closet wall but I'm not sure if that gets me any access to
whatever attachments are holding the heater in. I think Greg or
somebody at Inland RV had some pictures of a new heater installation so
hopefully somebody knows how to get the old one out. All suggestions
appreciated.
Thanks,
Jim Greene
