Bobby,
 Before installing the ball on the 'stinger', put it in the hitch on the
trailer, snap the latch "closed", and try to yank it out. It should fit
pretty snugly, no excessive play, and it definitely should not fall out.
You don't want to find out that you have the wrong size by having the
hitch pop off the ball while you're on the road.

Don't forget to keep it greased while travelling.
