[VAC] Re: Furnace/Hot Water Tank

I just removed the Suburban Furnace as part of my
restoration of my 27' '70 Overlander. I took it down to
the local RV service center and had them take a look at
it. First, he observed that it hadn't been run for
quite a while (I've only had it for a year, so I don't
know), then he said that they don't even make it any
more so he can't get parts. He indicated that because
of the amount of rust in the burner unit, he'd replace
it if he were me.

He showed me a Suburban model NT-30SP (30K btu) that has
the vent ports in nearly the same place as the old one,
and the air intake and exhaust vents the same. The
problem is that I'd have to block the unit up about 6"
up off the floor to make the intake and exhaust vents at
the same level as the old unit.

Is this the best model to use? or is there one that is a
closer match?

And what would be a good replacement for the hot water
tank, too.
