[VAC] Water Pump

Its a rainy day here in Houston, and the forecast calls for more rain. So I
thought I would look into my water pump in my 1976 31' Sovereign. To start
with, when I first got the trailer home a little over a year ago, I found
extensive freeze damage to the entire water system. I replace all of the
water lines with PEX and installed all the fixtures. At the time I left a
connection for the water tank/pump and capped it off. The filter cover was
cracked and I still have it and think I can get a replacement cover and
filter at my local RV store. I notice that when I flip the power switch that
the pump motor runs, so I assume that it works. It is listed as the "par
36800 in my service manual.

My question, should I expect that after replacing the filer cover and
filter, connecting the water line that I capped off and filling the tank
with water that it should work? My desire to get it working is that I would
like to have as many of the original system up and running as possible and
it is raining and I can't play golf, might as well work on the A/S. Thanks
