[VAC] Re: Brown Water Tank

Gary,
I wouldn't necessarily remove that tank to check and clean it, you
should be able to perform those tasks with the tank in place.

There are several methods for cleaning an inadequetly-cleaned black
water tank. One of the simplest that I've read about involves filling it
about 1/4 with water and dumping in a bag or 2 of ice cubes. Drive it
around the block a few times so the cubes can kinda "scrub" the tank,
then drain it. If the 'stuff' in the tank is all dried out and caked,
I'd let the water sit in it for a day or 3 to soften it before adding
the ice cubes. You may have to repeat the process, but I would think
that you'd get it clean eventually. They also sell 'wand' type devices
that you put down the toilet that spray a strong stream of water; you
rotate the wand to get all the corners of the tank. You could make one
of these easily enough, using something like 3/8" pipe and appropiate
fittings/adaptors.

Filling the tank and looking underneath the trailer should tell you if
it leaks.
