[VAC] Re: belly pan replacement

If you must add this additional weight.
You can apply a either a polyester type resin or a coat of epoxy resin.
A lot of people prefer epoxy over polyester resin, epoxy is a little stronger, but the polyester may be more what your looking for in this particular application.
You really want have to get it completely saturated, just a good even coat.
But pay attention to the edges, thes must be coated good.
If left unprotected the plywood will wick moisture.
It will probably be a good idea to seal the seams once you complete the instalation.

Now back to my first line weight.
A 1/4" 4 X 8 sheet of treated plywood  weighs 36 pounds.
A .032 4 X 8 sheet of aluminum weighs in at 18 pounds.

Good luck
