[VAC] Re: little snag with the K-H brake controller...

Tuna,

I've been gone and off-list for a few days.

The installation instructions address the subject of resetting failure
warning lights. Did you review the details? I had no problems with my Ford
but I notice that the instructions prescribe that some Fords must be
"reverse bled." The sheet suggests referring to the vehicle's shop manual
if the light remains on.

BTW, contemplating the purchase of a new Dodge-Cummins puller, I called
Dodge's toll free number to inquire about use of a hydraulic controller. I
wanted to make sure Dodge would not tell me any serious reason that they
knew that the controller could not be used. I had to press a little to get
the first guy to patch me through to a knowledgeable, technically oriented
person, but I was able to ascertain Dodge's position on use of a brake
controller which taps into the brake system.

The guy initially gave me the standard "Dodge doesn't recommend it and if
problems result......" answer but after I explained I was just a prospective
buyer, not a lawyer, not looking for a product liability claim, he
acknowledged that Dodge knows that some owners are using hydraulic-electric
controllers and agreed that they will work fine, Dodge just wants to remain
separate from any liability issues.

So, the bottom line appears to be the K-H should work fine with your
Durango.
