I had a similar problem, and, like you, see a Hensley in my future. For the
interim, however, I decided to go to the Reese Dual Cam swaybars. This made
quite a difference.

Perhaps you could go that route, or install a second friction bar. Small
(relative) cost either way, and mostly recoverable when you sell your 'old'
hitch.
