[VAC] Re: Travel Tips and Campgrounds

Hello Charles, sounds like a great trip! As you go to Jackson Hole from
Idaho Falls be sure to check for road repairs from Swan Valley up the Snake
River to Jackson Hole, they are still rebuilding that road and you may find
it dusty and bumpy for your new airstream. The alternate route would be
from Victor, Idaho over Teton Pass to Jackson. Teton Pass is very steep but
if you have trailer brakes you will be ok. I've pulled our Overlander over
it numerous times however I put the Suburban in low range to do so. It is
very steep! Once you are there in Jackson, stay out in Teton National Park
for the best views and camping at the Gros Ventre Campground in Teton Park,
some 12 miles from Jackson (no hookups.) If you head to Salt Lake from
there you have several choices...exit Jackson down the Snake River then up
the Hoback River to Daniel junction and on to S.L. through Kemmerer, WY and
I80. You can also find numerous beautiful places to camp if you exit Jackson
down the Snake River and accross to Bear Lake, Utah and on to Logan, Utah.
While in Jackson, remember to visit The Legacy Gallery of Art and ask to see
Gerald Shippen's bronze sculptures! There, how's that for P.R.? Have an
enjoyable trip...you really should do Yellowstone too while you are there. G.S.
