With that big an engine [8.2 liters], and the torque that come
with it, you ought to be able to pull a Sherman Tank up Pike's
Peak.
Seriously, even with a high (low numeric value - 2.7 to 3.0
:1 range) gear ratio, you should have no trouble towing a fairly large
trailer up to say 8,000 Lbs. You would need a transmission oil
cooler. With the stock radiator, you might have to go easy on the air
conditioner while climbing a long steep grade on a hot day.
Assuming the engine and power train are solid, and the
suspension, brakes and tires are good, this could be a sleeper of a tow vehicle.
On level terrain it would be awesome.
