[VAC] Re: black water tank

Unless it had a toilet, it didn't have a blackwater tank... unless it was an
early custom job and they plumbed the toilet right to a dump-valve...

someone on the list just GAVE me (for the price of shipping) an early '50's
'Monomatic Re-circulating Toilet'... (philip birk - where are you? i still
owe you for the freight!)

It's really not as awful as it sounds, and it's got its own tank, which is
plumbed directly to a dump-valve, solving the problem of retro-fitting a
blackwater tank. Another solution would be to install the blackwater tank
ABOVE the floor... this was apparently the intention of a previous owner of
my Trailwind - they'd installed the tank above the floor, and built a box
around it... the toilet then sits on top of it... a much better solution,
IMHO, unless one is doing a complete shell-off restoration.
