[VAC] Shower Valve in '70 31 ft. Sovereign

What is the best way to get to the shower valve and plumbing in the plastic
one piece rear bath in a '70 31 ft. Sovereign. The shower valve won't pull
open. I can turn it from side to side, but it won't pull on. I also think
there is a leak in the pipe on the exit side of the valve. Is there a way to
take the top and sink of to get to it?

Anyone sharing there experiences would be greatly appreciated.
