I had a '70 Coronet 318 2v. Pulled an SOB 16' and got a consistent 12 mpg @
60 with a 2.76 axle. Plenty of power. I would pass people on 2-lanes while
towing and never even need to kick down, so I'm not sure the 3.91 would make
all that much difference. Had a lot more low-end torque than my 305 4v in my
caprice, though they were both rated, as I recall, right at 160 hp.
