[VAC] Re: Transmission Oil Temp and Use of OD

I've noticed that my transmission runs cooler if I blast up a hill than if I
baby it. If it's in second gear blast ing up a hill the fluids must move
faster and cool off better than if it's easing up the hill in third gear.
Most of my overheating problems occurred when I was going pretty slow.

With all the problems I talked up with the overheating, I have never had my
transmission fail. These are Chrysler 727 Torqueflites (three speed) I am
using. I've never used a truck either. They've taken an awful beating and
still keep going. Even after the fluid dumped out of them all over the road
(when they overheated), I just filled them back up and kept going. They
wouldn't leak when they were cool. It cost me $350 to have it rebuilt at
100,000 miles.
