In my opinion:

The question isn't - does the Bambi really need this kind of hitch. 

The question is - does the Bambi and the Jeep Cherokee relly need this kind of hitch when towing
during the worst case scenerio. 

There is a website about Jeep Cherokees and towing characteristics. Someone else may remember it, I
don't. Or, you might go into Tom Patterson's archives and see if it's there. If I recall correctly,
there was discussion awhile back about unique features to consider when towing with a Jeep.

Your question is important to answer with data based on logic and historical evidence.
