yes - '59 used a ladder frame - and was the first
(full) year of the 7 segment dome body style that was
used well into the 1960's.  The 1951 had a pipe-frame,
one giant pipe down the middle - connected by
el-flimsy aluminum cross bars, and an independent
"truck" that the springs and wheels sat on (thanks for
the tour Tuna)

The '59 actually has a chassis that holds it all
together.

to the list:  does this mean that the mid-fifties on
are NOT monocoque structures?
