[VAC] replacing/reinforcing pipe-frames

Pipe-frame's history - going to do like Bud Cooper, and fabricate a
ladder-frame (mine's going to be 2" aluminum square tubing, or U-channel,
though), with the original 'pipe' running down the center retaining the
original hitch and tongue-jack. Henschen dura-torque axle, and new electric
brakes...and away we go.

I would strongly recommend anyone with a pipe-frame trailer at the very
least replace the cross members; and add side-rails if possible. The
pipe-frame design essentially uses the plywood floor to hold the frame and
truck (axle/wheels/suspension) together.. the flimsy aluminum L-brackets
holding the cross members to the pipe had all ceased to connect on my
pipe-frame... if i'd tried to load the trailer and tow it as i bought it,
the pipe would have pulled right through, and i'd have been dragging a 19'
pipe down the road...
