[VAC] Re: Making a living in an airstream for three years

Hello there Dan,

Thanks for the response and I will try to answer your questions. Candadian nudist are certainly a tough bunch, eh! Sure saves on laundry cost in the Summer though. The plastic film I was referring to is that heat shrink stuff that you first apply an invisible double sided tape around the window, inside of course, and then you apply this thin film to the tape. Then you use a heat gun or a hair dryer and just shrink the film smooth. This creates a sealed air space between the glass outside and the warmth inside to provide a temporary insulated window. 3m and other companies supply kits of the stuff for homes, so it is quite affordable at Home Depot and those kinds of places. It's worked well for me for the previous two Winters, but this winter the worst, of course, the damn tape just won't stick to the vinyl coated aluminum interior panels. I regularly add good old duct tape and attempt to re-bond the stuff. It makes a huge difference to the interior temperature, which try to keep at an even 68 C. We've had a couple of days this Winter of - 25 C. but the system still works thanks to my evening prayers to the Furnace God. Will Spring ever return - at the moment it is a sultry -10 C. I can only send you an exterior view of my home. But I am planning on taking some pics of the work station soon. I will attach the exterior view to this email. Water I fetch from a certified well nearby and use it to keep my 30 US gallon water tank happy. At the moment I use a sunken soak away pit to dump when the weather permits, but I also use a blue 30 gallon thing on wheels and haul it to a dump station that is located within the park when desperation due to the weather occurs. In answer to your question "what kind of work do you do", I can only respond that although I retired about 3 years ago on a small pension, work continues to seek me out. I conceive, structure and create advertising and promotional materials. I write it and graphically design and produce it. At the moment I am on a contract with a successful computer manufacturer, authoring 28 websites for them. Thanks to this contract, I am eagerly awaiting drapes from that outfit in Florida, James Ambruso or something like that. Mine is an almost fully restored travel trailer, and by God I am looking forward to moving her to a warmer climate, like the Baja, would you believe. I can work anywhere as long as I have Internet connection. Looking forward to wireless, believe you me.
