[VAC] Re: Replacing carpet.

I have carpet tile in my 30 Argosy and my 16' Bubble. It is a commercial
grade 18" square carpet brand called "Interface". It has a hard rubber
backing and is essentially a loose lay tile which only requires a 4"
adhesive stripeor strip perhaps 3 or 3 ft apart just to hold a row of
carpet in place to keep all the rest from moving. Armstrong has a
similar carpet tile out now and I believe there are a couple of others.
It wears like iron and in fact is probably a life time product. You can
left up/out the tiles for what ever reason. It is a very tight weave and
you can do it yourself with a bit of instruction. It is also very
expensive. But it doesn't take a lot for a trailer for it is affordable
when you do it yourself. The glue I have used is called: " Henry", Peach
Glue, Special Purpose Floor Covering Adhesive. The glue never dries out
but remains sticky. I pulled up a tile on an outside patio that has been
down ten years and the stuff is still sticky. Even if you don't use
carpet tile I would think this could be a good adhesvive for wall carpet
or any type of floor carpet. I would check with a carpet store for the
carpet tile as well as the adhesive.
