Without a lot of testing it would be difficult to tell if the cheap
resin soaks in as well as the expensive resin. It would take creating
some consistent samples of wood, equally rotten, then applying each
cure, then after it's cured, doing strength tests as well as cross
sections to check for penetration. And requires buying some of each
anyway. Why not use the stuff known to work even if its pricey and save
the experimentation. Then after the quick tests, there should be enough
samples to test at a year, 5 years and 25 years...
