[VAC] Re: 12 volt system

 My G.T. was NOT an International model; it had standard Signal-Stat
tail-lights, too.

My control panel had: tank level lights, DC Voltmeter (useless, as are all
analog meters for this purpose), DC Ammeter (kinda nice), pump switch,
115VAC outlet, 12VDC outlet (lighter receptacle), TV twin-lead receptacle,
clock, panel and night lights with switches. The front panel was hinged, and
behind it was all the DC wiring. There were 2, #6 wires from the battery in
the rear that fed a buss bar, along with a #10 wire that came from the belly
connection area. That one, of course, went to the trailer connector for
charging. There was a low-voltage cutout relay in series with that #10 wire,
but it had been bypassed. Mounted on the buss bar were 4 auto-reset
automotive style circuit breakers that fed the various circuits in the
trailer.

The overhead front compartment had a piece of Romex hanging there that had
12VDC on it, presumably for a radio. There was an antenna on the front of
the trailer, but no signs that a radio had ever actually been mounted in the
compartment.

The UniVolt was mounted near the battery, under the lavatory, and simply fed
the battery. Unlike some of the later models, this one had no fuse panel on
it, just the 2 output wires running directly to the battery. The latter was
mounted on a swing-out tray to make it somewhat easier to check the water
level.

I still don't believe that AirStream actually had a set of plans to build by
back in those days. IMO, they asked whoever was walking by the line at the
time what HIS opinion was on how they should arrange things. <<grin>>
