Christian,
 I suggest that you take your Caravel to a public scale, you'll be surprised
at what it weighs. Our '68 G.T. weighed about 3300# empty, and nearly 4000#
when ready to roll. Of course, there was 500# on the tounge at that time, so
only 3500# or so on the axle.

You're pushing it, but have little choice if that's all that will fit. Don't
be afraid to run the pressure to at least the max rating on the sidewall,
even a bit more if the tires run at all hot.
