Phil -
I've used my DirecTV receiver with a portable dish setup on my SOB
mini-motorhome... satellite channels only. No PPV, since there's no phone
line to hook up to... DTV 'monitors' usage with periodic 'calls' to your
receiver via phone line, and if they receive enough 'no connects', they
could conceivably disable your service, requiring you to call them and
persuade them to re-establish service. I use my fax/modem line for the DTV
line, and, before i had DSL, they would occasionally disable my service
because the line was frequently 'busy'...
