I wouldn't be too
quick to replace that fridge, not at what they cost. :-(
The electric part is quite easy to troubleshoot, just follow
the procedures on http://www.rvmobile.com.
It should be inexpensive to repair, also. Check the power to the heater, the
thermostat might have problems. I'd expect either the thermostat or the heater
to be relatively inexpensive and not too bad a job to replace.
If you almost always use the electric only anyway, why bother
with repairing the gas thermostat? You've used it on gas long enough to prove
that it's working, so just fix the electric side of it and be done. It shouldn't
cost $100.00.
My own fridge overcools on gas. It's probably the thermostat,
but I've not had a chance to really look into it. It works 'good enough', so
I've not been real concerned.
