Hi all -

In Arizona and other parts of the southwest, the "swamp" coolers work very
well, even during the monsoons. There are a couple of 12-volt ones that I
know of that could easily be run off a solar panel -

Jade Mountain sells a 12-volt portable evaporative cooler at -
http://www.jademountain.com/heatcool/kool.html. It's on sale at their Yahoo
site for $318.

And there is a company called "Swampy" in Arizona that makes several
different models of 12-volt evaporative coolers - their products and prices
are at http://www.swampy.net/hprices.html.
