Re: [VAC] "56" 27' Overlander

Hello Glen, Jrnymn, Roy, Terry and Tom and thanks for your input. Yep! I went
and bought the "57" Overlander yesterday and am now one of you proud
Airstreamers!! The outer shell is in good shape but the underbelly metal is
separated in places but not badly. Split rim wheels to be replaced and it is now
equipped with elect. brakes. Only found two places on the floor that was
separating. One behind the fridge and one to the right of the entrance door 3-4
ft. under the couch. Both bad spots at the outerwall. Neither were very large
maybe 12" to 18" sq. There is no holding tank. Porcelain commode sits up high ..
is there a small holding tank under it?? The inside needs the usual reupholstery
but the wood appears to be in good condition. Sliding cabinet doors of
composition wood??? They are covered with wall paper or vynal(?) shelving
covering?? It has been equipped with a battery along with AC. Incidentally,
there is a gas light in the front.
Is there any book that can be used in refurbishing a trailer like this? I
need a starting point. of course I will need a trailer hitch for a 1986 B-250
dodge van with a #318 to begin with. Any suggestions?
I will be the second owner not counting the dealer it was traded to and the
man that brought it to GA to sell. Look forward to hearing from you folk .. Take
care and God Bless!
Jerry
