I think you'd do better looking for a smaller A/S.  I pull a 1975 31'
with a '99 Dodge Ram 1500 with the factory tow package and a 5.9 liter
V-8, 3.5 rear end.  It lugs a little on the hills, but does fine on flat
land.  The 31' rig weighs in at just over 7,000 lbs and might be a bit
much for your 318.  A 24 or 26' might work out just fine, and you
haven't lost much space.
