Re: [VAC] older trailer

Jim and Linda, welcome back to the VAC list. So you have been up in
the Sierras looking at old "Aluminum". That old trailer you found
sounds familiar. I would ask the pesky and sometimes magnificent
"Karnack" for info, but he has been a real pain lately, so instead, let
me look up the series number. If that old coach was a 13 segment, and
a 21 foot model, it is possible that it was a 1951, or 1952, 21 ft
Flying Cloud, with a serial number of 7009, it could have been the
"9th" Flying Cloud, made in 1951, or 1952, but that is a guess, based on
the production sequence number. Some Overlanders also had a 7000 series
number, but they would be 26 feet in length. I think that Arthur and
Olga may have passed on, their number has not been in the WBCCI
directory for several years.

Your fridge propane burner going off is a common problem. Sometimes
caused by soot or rust or dirt in the burner, and sometimes caused by a
malfunctioning thermocouple. Take the inspection flap off of the
boiler/generator, lower part, and clean the burner with some compressed
air. You may want to also give the flue a good shot of air to dislodge
any rust or dirt. When you re light the burner, make sure the blue part
of the flame is touching the thermocouple. If the thermocouple is not
touching the blue flame, it will not stay hot enough to keep the flame
on. My little Dometic just had some of the same problelms and the
instructions say once or twice a year, it may be necessary to clean and
adjust the burner assembly. Have fun.

Anytime I hear about new transfers, I jump on it with both feet. Where
are you moving in PA?? Many in our unit are at a rally in Limestone PA
today, at the Penn Woods Airstream Park. You and Linda would be most
welcome to transfer from the San Berdoo unit to the Washington DC Unit.
It isn't often we get someone from the world famous "San Berdoo" unit.
Click on our url below, and we will be in touch.
