Thanks to those who responded RE: my univolt.  I'm a carpenter, though.  If I
can't saw it, I don't want to know about it and don't care how the saw works.
I can hook a battery to the trailer harness and get juice but have to recharge the
battery sererately.  If I put a battery in the box by the door, nothing happens.
Again, unless it's relatively simple,  my tendency is to saw it up and buy a new
one.
What do you think?
