The new A/S's  ARE heavy.  The Limited models are so heavy that the average
chassis is not strong enough for the trailer.  Since the present parent
company Thor is totally into money and not into the Airstream concepts or
legacy, ( one of A/S's men
recently when queried, didn't know who Wally Byam was,)  Quality and weight
control are given little or no concern.  That is why a top of the line
Limited is comonly put on the samed chassis as the Soveriegn and with corian
counters and heavy Oak Cabinets can weigh over 10,000lbs.  Old Wally was so
proud of the fact that his trailers were so exeptionaly light that they
could be towed in comfort by the family sedan.  My 26' Trailer weighs only
3,600lbs. unloaded  and like Kathy Hunt, I tow it comfortably with a Ford
LTD,  and the 14mpg I get sure helps with the recent gas prices!
