Hi Eric,
         Our trailer has the same problem and I have been looking at the 
service manual and contemplating removing them, disassembling, cleaning and 
then putting them back together.  I think it will require drilling out the 
rivets on the outside and also loosening the interior skin, so I have only 
contemplated this so far.  I think when we re-do ours I am also going to 
hopefully replace the vista vue shades which are broken on ours.  So I'll 
be keeping an eye out for a wrecked trailer.  Anyway, if you would like I 
would be happy to scan the pages of my service manual that pertain to the 
window assembly if you don't have copies of your own.  I'll see if you come 
up with a better solution.  Good luck.
