In the machinery shed, I've found the air driven die grinder with a 3"
diameter thin (1/32") cutoff wheel is the best tool for removing rusted
hardware without destroying the rest of the parts around it. Its easy to
split (though not instant) to split a nut cleanly and save the bolt. The
cutoff disks do wear down so its worth having a few on hand. Northern
has a collection of die grinders from about $25 up.
