[VAC] 1962 Overlander , Electrical system
In process of evaluation repair restoration and replacement as
required on 1962 International Land Yacht.
measures 26 ft 5 in. Long about 7 1/2 ft wide, 3 roof vents, 1
louvered window, by door, serial number I262D965 .
I plugged in the 110 vac for the first time this weekend.
Surprise no fires. The plug dropped down from the curb side rear
panel door held up with two clasp. the plug had 2 horizontal flat
lug with a ground lug under them _ _ .
o
After buying a couple different RV adapters 30 amp. I looked at
the plug made a drawing and went to Loews.
This plug seems to be rated at 15 amps. perhaps 15-20 amps. All
lights & 110 vac worked fine. There was a 12 vdc light next
to each 110vac light. All electrical outlets were 110vac. Some
wall receptacles were 2 prong some were three. I would
assume the 3 prongs are replacements.
The 110vac fan in the front roof vent worked from switch next to
it. The rear roof vent had a and with a toggle switch marked
for "city / 12v." The next step is to check out the 12 vdc system.
Since I have no control panel I am proceeding with some
caution. The light in front next to couch/bed have no shades does any
one know what the originals looked like ?
There is a push button in the center of the overhead light in Galley
, it is disconnected an bypassed. Did some one
put the wall switch in the ceiling as a replacement ?
I am going to replace the modular plug on the hitch end with a 7
pin circular std trailer plug ? and the cable from the hitch to
the underbelly access panel. It look like someone by-passed the
blue wire in the cable. Perhaps intermittent to flexing
cable over many yr..
NEW Subject
Is the fresh water tank supposed to be above the floor or under neath
? I picked up a pump and tank(poly) because I thought
they were missing.
Another new subject;
I cannot locate the place to connect to the holding tank for dumping
sewage can any one give me a hint ? Don't tell me
just a hint I like a challenge.
